So what do you think? Can information kill someone? Yes, it can. But indirectly. Imagine that someone has received some really bad news (aka: information) and that made him very depressed and suicidal and he killed himself. Or imagine that someone used to believe in something beautiful, something that gave him hope. And then someone came and told him that it's not true. And this person can also become suicidal as a result of such news.
Someone could hear information about God and become a Christian as a result. And if it happened in the times of persecution, he may die for his faith instead of giving up his belief. So in this case, him receiving information about Christianity has resulted in his death.
Some occult leaders provide certain information to their followers which makes them kill themselves.
Information deeply affects our life. That's why we should be careful as far as which information we let close to ourselves. Some of it may deeply hurt us and emotionally cripple us. Some of it may make us very happy.
So when I share some "bad news" with Christians about their faith and problems with it, I try to be careful and not share it with those who would be harmed by this information. Because some people are better off remaining believers than losing their faith. Whether the object of faith is real or not real doesn't matter. What matters is that people believe it and it changes their lives. For example, a murderer or an alcoholic can become a believer in God, which can enable him to give up his bad behavior. It's the faith that matters. Not as much the object of faith. But faith itself. Faith can "move mountains" figuratively speaking.
When I was a Christian and wanted to remain a Christian, and I watched some science fiction movies that made me doubt the love of God, I told myself to stop watching those because they upset my faith. Afterall, faith means: believing without proof. So if there is no proof one way or the other, people have a choice: either to believe or not to believe. And it's ok to choose either one, as long as it makes your life better and helps you to become a better person.
But if you are struggling with your faith and are wishing that it wasn't true, then it would be useful to you to read some opposing information and it will most likely help you to lose your current belief.
